Hello People,

I'm looking for advice on python for Blackmagic's Fusion7 resources,
since one of the vfx houses i work for is planning on changing their comp software.
I know it is a little bit of an off-topic, sorry for that  ;)
I've already searched with google, but i can find classes and methods documentation.
If you happen to know where this docs are, please let me know!
Cheers,
Eduardo

Wow I have been out of the compositing game for a while. I had no idea Eyeon was bought out and they made a free variant of Fusion! I learned to comp back on Fusion 3.xwand used it through Fusion 5. Always liked it better than Nuke as well. The downside for them was that it was Windows only (with some special Wine version for Linux). If they had gotten it to be cross platform I think it would have had more of a chance to to be picked up in place of Nuke.

I also remember that they were crazy and added their first Python support with Python 3000, hah.
Is it still only Windows, and using Python 3.x now?

Here's some more info on that.

I also asked about Python resources, but it seems there aren't much out there. There are a few links in that thread however, including the manual (which mentions Python, but that's about it).

I can tell you however that it does support Python, 2 and 3 as well as Lua, which is their native scripting engine; Python is essentially a wrapper around Lua, much like Python is to MEL in Maya; which means the documentation you'll find will more likely refer to Lua, but is apparently relatable (based on comments in the above thread).

Hello Justin and Marcus,
Thanks for your answers.
There are a lot of Fusion fans, and i think Blackmagic's move will change peoples mind,
specially people with tight budgets...
If i run into something about python, i'll post it here.
Cheers!
Eduardo
