Hi

What is the difference between statsmodels statsmodels-dq packages?

$ pip search statsmodels
statsmodels
(0.10.1)  - Statistical computations and models for Python
statsmodels
-dq (3.0)  - Statistical computations and models for Python
sm2
(0.1.3)           - Bugfix Fork of statsmodels

Thanks,

statsmodels-dq is a fork of the official statsmodels https://github.com/prateek3211/statsmodels by user prateek3211

The only difference I can see is user prateek3211 has updated setup.py to point back to his/her github repo - normally you fork if you want to add your own contributions which cannot be incorporated in the upstream project. So I would advise you install statsmodels not statsmodels-dq

The pypi page is misleading it's just a copy of ours https://pypi.org/project/statsmodels-dq/
We might be able to have it removed from pypi, or it needs to clearly specify that it is a fork

Thanks David for clarifying this.

Josef

Thank you, David and Josef. Will stick to the official statsmodels package.
