Hi all,

I am running a simulation where I'm modelling a multi-year investment scenario of 30 years, and modelling how a grid's generation mix changes as more renewable power is added.

I am following a country's  generation plan for this exercise,  where plans have been made for a certain amount of MW of solar capacity installed one year, and a higher amount in the subsequent year. Is it possible to plot all future solar generation (for example) as one generator in the input file and have its capacity (i.e. p_nom) change year to year? For now from what I understand it is only possible for variables such as p_min_pu and p_max_pu to vary with time for a given generator.

Thanks,
Alex

Hi Alexander,

no, you’d have to create a generator for each investment period.

Best wishes,

Fabian
