Dear Sirs, Good morning.

I have tried to run any example, even a modified one in pypsa-eur in the version uploaded today, and I encountered this snakemake problem: error: argument --logger: invalid choice: ‘pypsa’ (choose from ).

I also had problems with the previous version ( AttributeError: 'str' object has no attribute 'is_storage'), Is it possible to download a version of Pypsa-Eur that is currently free of bugs or could you help me with the fix of this bug?

Thank you very much for your help.

Sergio

Dear Sergio,

We generally make sure that all PyPSA-Eur version that are available on GitHub in the `master` branch are working.
However we cannot cover all cases.

You have two options:
1. Use a released version. Instead of the most up-to-date version, you can download a released version from GitHub. The last release was 2025.07.0.
Note that the online documentation is by default showing the documentation for the `master` branch, not for the release, i.e. they won't be consistent.
The documentation for this release can be found here: https://pypsa-eur.readthedocs.io/en/v2025.07.0/

2. The message you are seeing seems to indicate, that the version of PyPSA-Eur that you have downloaded is not compatible with the Python packages you have installed.
Since we are constantly developing the model, you need to make sure that you update your Python packages to the package versions required by PyPSA-Eur whenever you download a new PyPSA-Eur version.
We've recently switched to `pixi` for package management, which takes care of this automatically if you use `pixi run snakemake ...` .

Best,
Johannes

Thank you all very much.

This time I did what you said using pixi, and this time I used the default so as not to make any mistakes, but I still get this error: AttributeError: ‘str’ object has no attribute ‘is_storage’.

On previous occasions, Fabien had told me to add enable: receive: true, but that doesn't work either.

Can you help me find where the error is in the snakefile?

Best Regards

Sergio
