Unable to add icon image in ubuntu

I have tried everything to add icon to my ubuntu executable python file but I am unable to do so. Please suggest me correct way.

I have used following command but nothing is working.

pyinstaller --onefile --icon="path to icon" pythonfile.py.

pyinstaller --onefile --icon path to icon pythonfile.py.

pyinstaller --onefile --i "path to icon" pythonfile.py.

No, since Linus does not support icons in applications.
