puppet calatog size and file server

Hi all,

I have a question about puppet catalog that is send to the puppet agent.

I have a simple setup with hiera and few puppet agents. Currently my puppet modules download needed files from a apache web “repository” via curl. I was thinking if it is possible to simplify this process and to get the files via puppet fileserver – if I understood the documentation this shoud be the same as downloading files from apache (I use passenger).

Is this correct?

Do this will affect the size of the catalog that is send to the agent or this files files are served as separate download managed by puppet?
