Puppet Client Reports file not found on Server

Ive had a series of issues with a specfic node.
Node is running puppet 3.0.2.
During a puppet run the client reports:
Warning: Unable to fetch my node definition, but the agent run will continue:
Warning: Error 400 on SERVER: No such file or directory - /var/lib/puppet/yaml/node/{nodename}.yaml20140501-4910-10zh5o0.lock
I check the server and this servers node.pp went missing so I recreated it.
client still shows that this lock file is missing. I confirmed that the lock file is indeed missing.
Unsure why the configuration for this node went AWOL from server.
How should I fix this?
Need to get node back under management.
