Sigh,

Disclaimer: This is about a puppet enterprise installation. I am waiting to be acepted to the group.

So I am asking the question here, and will probably learn how different/similar open source vs enterprise puppet are.

1/ The install screen did NOT make it easy to tell that I was entering the superuser name (email) and its password. So I just typed gobbledygoop into it, the pword that is.

2/ Does open source use a postgres database back end too?

3/ HOW can I change the password for the admin of the puppet master by using SSH into the ubuntu server. Is the password stored hashed or something into the postgresdatabase?

I COULD do a complete reinstallation, it wouldn't be that hard. I looked int he answer file and I did not see where the superuser password was in there, hashed or not.

Any help would be much appreciated. Have a great Sunday night and week, everybody. :-)

I stand corrected, the password *IS* in the answers file. There are several answers files found after the installation using "find ./ -iname '*answer*' " iniside of the '/opt/puppet directory. The one that was relevant was: /opt/puppet/share/installer/answers/fqdn.given.during.installation.answers

The keys were:
q_puppet_enterpriseconsole_auth_password='password_entered'
q_puppet_enterpriseconsole_auth_user_email='us...@domain.tld'
