Announce: Puppet Platform 5.3 available

A new release of the Puppet Platform is available. As a reminder, we're doing monthly releases of the platform components (Agent, Server, and PuppetDB) which are tested and released together. For details, see https://docs.puppet.com/puppet/5.3/release_notes_agent.html.

Puppet agent 5.3.1 is a feature, bug-fix, and improvement release in the Puppet 5 series. It includes component updates to Puppet 5.3.1, Facter 3.9.2, MCollective 2.11.3, and pxp-agent 1.8.0. It also adds packages for Fedora 26, and for SuSE Linux Enterprise Server 12 on POWER architectures, and removes packages for Fedora 24 which entered end-of-life status on August 8, 2017.

Puppet 5.3.1 is a feature and bug-fix release that adds support for Retry-After headers in agent request responses optionally produced by Puppet Server 5.1.0 and newer, and end-entity certificate revocation checking (“leaf” checking) as a new option for the certificate_revocation setting. PuppetDB 5.1.1 is a bug fix release that contains a fix for a uniqueness bug in the recent fact data migration. For details, see https://docs.puppet.com/puppetdb/5.1/release_notes.html.

Puppet Server 5.1.3 is a bug-fix release of Puppet Server that improves performance by reducing its default logging level to its Logback settings, instead of logging at the debug level by default and filtering the results. Note: Platform 5.3.0, Puppet 5.3.0, and Puppet Server 5.1.1 and 5.1.2 were internally scheduled or tagged but not packaged for release. Platform 5.3.1 is the first release in the 5.3.x series.
