Puppetconf 2015: pre-summit tea party

Hi everyone,

As is tradition (since last year) I'm organising a pre-contributor-summit tea party at some decent tea place in Portland. We shall assemble at the to be announce tea shop at 15:30 local time.

If you live in Portland and know of a good tea place (not a Starbucks or random coffee shop which also serves two worn out blends of Earl Grey) give me a heads up about where to go.

Want to join? Throw a +1 in the list so I get a rough idea of how people are going to show.

Can't join on Tuesday the 6th of October at 15:30 because you're not in town yet? Not a problem, there's still ample time for you to adjust your flight schedule accordingly ;)!

So the problem is assembling a crowd. If you want tea tasting, I would recommend checking out Jasmine Pearl Tea Company on your own (only a few seats in the tasting room). Tao of Tea on Belmont, or Townsend Tea is more accommodating since they have room to sit, but neither is located downtown nor very spacious. I recommend going to the LanSu Chinese garden and visiting the teahouse in the garden. They serve tea in several different styles with small bites and hopefully can accommodate everyone since they have two floors:

I love this plan. The Tea Zone and Camelia Lounge in the Pearl has lots of space and is quiet during the day. At night it gets a bit more lively.

Oh no! I wish I'd realized this was happening. My flight gets in at 8:35PM and I can't change it unless I want to pay something like $135, which I do not. I'll have to try to make it next year.
