Remove the strict_hostname_checking puppet setting. It was changed to false in 6.x, otherwise a node could get a catalog it wasn't supposed to have.

Remove the strict_hostname_checking puppet setting. It was changed to false in 6.x, otherwise a node could get a catalog it wasn't supposed to have.


Remove the node_name setting which is related to strict_hostname_checking.

Setting

{strict_hostname_checking}

to false is deprecated.

The whole names method in `lib/puppet/node.rb` goes away, so instead of `node.names`, just access the `name` attribute on the node object.

Release Notes: Known Issue
Release Notes Summary: This removes in Puppet 7 the deprecated strict_hostname_checking and node_name settings.

The use cases for these settings (classification based on partial certname or fact based classification) are possible using newer more explicit constructs within a site.pp or fully featured enc.
