Once the testing pipelines have been converted to running from git, then there needs to be a job to smoke test the puppet-agent packages for all platforms just prior to promotion into PE.
Identify appropriate smoke tests to validate packages
Does it install correctly?
Does it start the services correctly?
Does it work correctly?
Determine how the smoke tests are identified (e.g. test tagging)
Once the testing pipelines have been converted to running from git (PUP-9429), then there needs to be a job to smoke test the puppet-agent packages for all platforms just prior to promotion into PE.
# Identify appropriate smoke tests to validate packages * Does it install correctly? * Does it start the services correctly? * Does it work correctly? # Determine how the smoke tests are identified (e.g. test tagging) # Codify the test identification # Create job in pipeline
The puppet agent tests verify services and run fairly quickly. I’m going to close this and let nights watch handle future release process improvements.
