file_line is an important resource, part of stdlib. I noticed recently that it's no longer documented anywhere in puppet.com. I'm not sure why.

 

https://puppet.com/docs/puppet/latest/type.html doesn't list it. (probably because it's supposed to be documented elsewhere)

It's not searchable from puppet.com:

it's not documented under stdlib on the forge (see attached picture):

stdlib on the forge, on the tab references has file_line - the search on the forge is a bit strange though as if you search for "file_line" the supported stdlib module does not show on the first page of results (I did not scroll, so don't know if it was even there).

The first google response for "file_line site:forge.puppet.com" returns the stdlib module. As Henrik Lindberg said you have to select the References tab, which isn't super obvious.

Note file_line was never documented as a builtin type, since it was never in core puppet. I'm going to close this PUP ticket as a result.
