Re: Implement pluginsync of external facts without using source_permissions In a world of git, the only permission that makes sense is the executable bit. A replacement for source_permissions would be a more restricted parameter about whether to use the executable bit from the source. That would also suffice for the facts pluginsync use-case.

Re: Implement pluginsync of external facts without using source_permissions We had planned to deprecate and remove source_permissions, but many people rely on the ability to copy the file mode from the source to destination, especially with recursive directory resources. So we've decided not to eliminate source_permissions, but we may reduce it's scope to just the file mode and not file owner and group. In any case, this ticket is not needed, closing.
