Hi guys,
nice to meet you.
I need help.
i have an insta pro2 and i would like to stitch the files in ptgui. But I can't get good results.
I followed the instructions at this link but it doesn't work.
Can you give me the parameters to work the insta pro 2 on ptgui (sensor format, lens, etc.)
Thanks in advance!
Emanuele

Been there before, and unless your subjects are really far away from the camera, I'm afraid there is no way to get a good stitch from the pro2 in any software that doesn't utilize optical flow.

So,
Is it impossible to get a good stitch from Pro2?
Nobody has solution for this problem?

As any multi lens 360° camera, the images suffer from parallax. In case
of the insta the distance between the lenses is larger than necessary,
which increases the problem. This might or might not lead to stitching
problems, depending from where the seam lines are. So if you position
the camera such, that the seam lines don't cut important details they
might hide in the less important areas. Also PTGui 12 pro should try to
route seams around objects if "Find Optimum seams" is enabled. However,
this will not always be possible or fail sometimes, if contrast is too
low. In this case you need to use masks in order to move the seams to
ares where they don't offend.

If you provide the images for download we can have a look.

This is a nightmare to stitch. You shot far too near objects, so
parallax is extremely large. And your images are partly clean and partly
heavily noisy, probably due to wrong HDR processing. In my opinion they
are not worth any effort, sorry.

Next time stay as far away from any nearby objects as possible. Try to
position the camera such, that any nearby object is completely covered
by one lens. When stitching, create more control points, preferable an
further away objects, and eventually switch on viewpoint correction for
all but the anchor image. This however, might cause verticals to be
oblique.

I'd consider the Insta the wrong camera for interiors like this. Better
us a decent conventional camera with a fisheye on a well adjusted
panoramic tripod head, where you can avoid any parallax by rotating
around the no-parallax-point.

Sure Erik,
I agree with you.
But I want to realize animated panoramas.
This is the reason why I made this interior with insta.
Do you think that the noisy part of images are due to HDR processing.
Thanks a lot!

What do you mean by that? Panoramic video?

Hard to guess without knowing what you actually did to the files.
However, heavy noise like this usually comes from brightening
underexposed images too much.
