I tried to install an Apple USB keyboard yesterday. The box came up saying that the keyboard needed to be identified. After following the instructions, I restarted the computer. Now, the keyboard acts like it is sluggish. The voiceover keys do not work with the aero keys but maybe 10% of the time. Is there something I need to change or how can I get this keyboard to work. This keyboard has a number pad, and I would really love to use it.

Press VO+K nd see if it starts keyboard help. If so make sure all the keys are what you think they are. Press VO+K again or press escape. If this is a laptop you can enter Keyboard help with a 4 finger double tap on the trackpad as well. Do a VO+F2 Twice Quickly to make sure you don’t have a hidden window starting that the keyboard needs some kind of permission to proceed.  Hopefully one of those will get you going in the right direction.

All that is OK. I guess it just doesn't work.

Thats very odd that a wired keyboard wouldn’t work, I have never had any issues with any wired or bluetooth keyboards, both apple and third party. Did you try unplugging and plugging it back in after a restart?

Yes, I've tried everything that I know. I'm starting to think if it was bad when it came to me. I followed all set up instructions. And in the set up instructions and asked me to press the key to the left and the right of the shift key.
