What is the best way to rearrange tracks in ProTools. Mine are all over the place. I would like to get them together.

In the Track List, you can drag tracks around and drop them into position. Use the mouse down command which is VO Shift Command Space Bar. Move VoiceOver focus to the track above which you'd like to drag the track and mouse up with the same shortcut. You can select multiple tracks and mouse down on one of them to drag all selected tracks to the same location, that is, starting at the same location and falling into sequential position. That's the basic concept. Some of this will change with the upcoming folder tracks feature where you'll be able to right-click on a track and send it to a folder. Still, you'll need to use this technique to rearrange tracks within a given folder if necessary.

HTH,
Slau

It may be my fault, maybe I said this wrong, but it did change the tracks in the tracklist table, but, it did not change them in the actual project. Does this work the same for the project as well? What I mean is they are like I want them in the table but it does not reflect them when I get out of the table.

Thank you so much, that helped me out. Did this information come from the README file from flo tools?

Thanks Slau and Chuck. And thanks to Jimmy for asking the question. I
was just experiencing this situation so when I saw the thread, I
followed it up as I often do to every thread I come across. I learned
from it and it worked. Thanks again to everyone.

Chuck, remember you wanted to show me something about equalization and
plugins in ProTools sometime back . Something happened and we couldn't
go through with it. When you have time, can you still help? I
purchased this Izotope bundles and I can seem to get it to work.
Thanks!

Best,

Dammie

All of those mouse clicks confuse me. I will have to start reading more carefully. That helps a bunch because now I can do my mixes the correct way. I like to have my drums first, guitars, sensing keyboards, ET see.

Hi Jimmy,
All of that is straight-forward Pro Tools behavior. In the PT reference Guide and Intro to Pro Tools documentation, the process is detailed with instructions to drag tracks to where yu want them to appear. In this case, you're doing the exact same thing with VoiceOver. In fact, another method is to click and drag the track's name plate (within the channel strip). This is for when you don't have the track list shown and still need to rearrange tracks. Of course, now that the track list is always visible to VoiceOver, it does add a slight layer of complexity because, although the track list is always visible to VoiceOver, that doesn't mean that clicking and dragging the mouse will drag the selected tracks. Again, with the next Pro Tools release, this will not be an issue.
Cheers,
Slau
