Hi my name is Steve and I am a very new proTools user. I just installed keyboard Maestro nine, Flo tools and Pro Tools 2019.6. Personally I have been using ProTools maybe for a month actively now. I failed to look at the Google groups posts before installing everything, but notice that some people were warning users to not install the new keyboard Maestro 9. The past month I have been using ProTools with Standard voice over commands and would like to speed up my workflow, so I installed all the necessary applications. The key command functions for Flo Tools are not working properly in pro tools and I am unsure what the problem may be. Here is an example of what is happening: when I am in pro tools on an audio track in the track list table, I go to press/to toggle the inspector on. All that is announced is toggle off. When I go to try another command, like command + F1, it just says mirror. Mirror must be a standard key combination for Mac OS and relates to video display options I am guessing. I believe that all my windows are open that should be and everything is optimized properly. I will double check everything again though. any feedback or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I don't know about the first question, but there is a setting in
system preferences -> keyboard to make your function keys normal (not
sure of the wording), so check that one.

How do
you spend it?

> I will take a look at that, but maybe I confused you and everyone. I don’t believe the flow tools commands are working at all. From what I have studied, when you hit the/key it should toggle inspector on. When I hit that key it just says toggle off, which I believe is incorrect. Again from what I’ve read, shipped/is the key command for turning off the inspector. If I continue to press the/button it just continues to say toggle off, toggle off, toggle off.

I gave the example of command F one because I believe that key function combination is supposed to read the start time field. Instead, it reads mirror, mirror, mirror every time I push that button. Any more help would be greatly appreciated, would love to use flo tools with ProTools.

Go to the Keyboard pane of System Preferences and check the checkbox to have the F Keys behave as standard function keys.

That has fix the problem mostly, but I am confused about some other things. Thanks so much for the help. If I have any specific issues I will start a new topic. The inspector mode is still confusing me, but let me spend a lot of time practicing and going over the instruction manual. It seems like it is always on and I am able to do the one letter presses when I hover over a track. I thought the inspector mode was something you had to toggle on or off, something doesn’t seem right.

Hello Steve!

Oh, you installed Flo Tools under Keyboard Maestro 9 :-(
That causes exact the issue with the inspector mode.

At the moment you have to use Keyboard Maestro 8 to make Flo Tools run as expected.

So first you need some instructions how to "uninstall" Flo Tools and roll back to Keyboard Maestro 8.
I did the same mistake regarding Keyboard Maestro 9 and was able to use a Timemachine backup for that.

Hopefully one of the Flo Tools experts could give you instructions to savely remove Flo Tools and Keyboard Maestro 9.
Than you have to install Keyboard Maestro 8 and Flo Tools again.
And be sure to avoid updating to Keyboard Maestro 9 again ;-)

Good luck and best! / Martin
