Hi guys:

Happy Sunday and happy new month! Hope you all are doing terrific.
I'll need your 2cents as usual. I'm working on a session where I want
to transfer an edited audio clip from it to another, and I'm having
difficulty making the transfer without the clipping. I don't know if
there's better way to accomplish this task. I bounced the clip the
first time, and the second, I committed it or so. Please let me know
if I'm doing something wrong or something.

Also, I'm running into Voice-Over not seeing audio signal level
whenever I check. I remember how we did it the last time to get the
level in view, but is there a way to return Voice Over to be able to
see the signal without having to scroll every track into view to check
their level? Please share your 2cents with me once more. I promise to
spend them wisely. Thanks! God bless!

Best,

Dammie

Hi Dammie,

Bouncing audio is a very basic operation. You should have absolutely no trouble bouncing a clip. If your clip is distorted, you're having a very basic problem with gain staging. Unfortunately, this is something that cannot be solved in an email. If your selected clip is definitely not distorted, use Command+Shift+k to export. This clip could not possibly be distorted if the original recording was not distorted. Simply import the clip to your other session.
HTH,
Slau

I forgot to address the level indicator question. Dammie, I don't know what's up with your session and how you're navigating but there's rarely a need to bring tracks into focus to see the level meter. I can count the number of times I've had to do that in 17 years on one hand. Make sure your Mix window is maximized and that you're not showing all inserts and sends. Unless you're working with a large number of tracks, you should be able to see at least 24 tracks worth of level indicators at any point.
HTH,
Slau
