Hi,
I’m having issues with using my Raspberry Shake with WinSDR. I was using WinSDR on my Live Stream with no issues for about 5 months, I updated WinSDR and now this happened. I was suggested to contact Larry Cochrane but I’m not sure if i’m in the right place. Anyways here’s my issue, when I start WinSDR the readings are very high and when I open up the log viewer it says High incoming time difference. I posted on the Raspberry Shake fourm and everything was ok with the Raspberry Shake. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this problem, or am I just missing something obvious? Let me know if I need to attach anything else.
Thanks,
Southern California Earthquakes

Hi,

Make sure that the time on the computer that is running WinSDR is being disciplined with NTP,  the RPI is. If they both have good time then that message should go away.

Thanks, I already ensured that both devices have good time. (Are synched)

How are you getting data into WinSDR? Are you using the UDP Packet Mode or the TCP mode with WinSDR Server running on
the PI?

I was using the UDP mode before, now with the new update I'm using the "Shake Mode"Screenshot (4).png

One more question. What model of the RShake do you have? Is it the 1d, 3d (JAM board) or their 4d device?

A few things to do...

Make sure you have the correct number of sensor/station ID name mapping channel lines for the number of channels on the
ADC board. See https://www.seismicnet.com/shake/winsdrshake.html for more information.

Make sure you are running the current version of WinSDR. Here are the links to version 4.7.9
https://www.seismicnet.com/software/winsdr479b1_64bit.exe or
https://www.seismicnet.com/software/winsdr479b1_32bit.exe

And here is the link to version 1.4 of wsserver. Make sure to recompile the program before running it.
https://www.seismicnet.com/software/wsserver_14.zip

If you can't get it working turn on the raw data logging feature in the wsserver.conf file. This is done by changing
logRaw = 0 to logRaw = 1 and restarting wsserver. Let wsserver run for a few minutes to capture some data. You may need
to connect to the server using WinSDR to create the raw data log file. After that stop the server and turn off logging.
Next post a few lines from the /tmp/rawudp.dat file to the group.

RS4D AM. RCEA5. I'll try those things as well.

Sorry for the delay, I’ve been busy with other things. I’ve done everything except turn on the Raw Data logging feature on wsserver. I haven't had wsserver installed before and to my understanding I don’t need it installed. I assume that I need it installed and if so I need it on the Raspberry Shake correct?

Thanks
