HI all,  Happy Friday.

First off thanks to this entire group for the help and support that is being given in this group.

I wanted to see if anyone out there is using quick books with PSI.

We have a sister company that would like to start using QuickBooks as it meshes up with their current online software.  On the printing side we eventually want to move to another system but do to time and personnel constraints when haven’t made the jump yet.  I am  in the process of Converting all of my Computers from Win 7 to Win 11Pro and with the support of this group it seems to be working.  Not sure about Macola as I haven’t upgraded any of those computers yet.   We want to make our accounting more efficient for both of our businesses so we are looking at this option.

So my question is this.

Is anyone running QuickBooks with PSI?  and how is this working. ?

What steps would I need to do to export my invoices to QuickBooks?   I understand I will need to change setting in PSI to make it a standalone without Macola.

Thanks Justin

Hi All,

Since I didn’t get any bites on this one I am correct to say no one is using Quickbooks behind PSI.  What just using PSI and exporting to a  Different Accounting program?

Thanks Justin

I started an interface many years ago - when there were still maybe 100+ PSI users, but I only had one PSI user show any interest. I figured it might cost $15-20K to develop, so it wasn’t feasible for a single client. It would not have been a transparent interface, but an export to delimited file and import into QB.

With most people moving off of PSI, it makes no sense to work on an interface that would have few users and would only be used for a year or two.

At this time, I don’t know of anyone who provides support for PSI. Probably many reasons to find & implement a new Print Management System

We used Quickbooks and PSI at Goetz. It wasn’t an easy thing to do.
For example, in PSI and Macola, you could invoice multiple sales tax jurisdictions on one invoice( for us this usually involved jobs that delivered to different locations). In QB each location has to have its own invoice.

Customer deposits were a major issue for us. We could never figure out how to reverse it in QB.

We printed out the final invoice in PSI and then typed it into QB. We didn’t print to PDF and attach it because the invoice in PSI looked totally different from the QB invoices.

Randall’s interface would probably have made things a lot easier.

You really can’t do any job costing or WIP unless you are willing to duplicate entering your vendor invoices into both systems, unless QB has a manufacturing package.

Another issue in the beginning was in QB we had no way of putting the PO and job numbers in the header area of the invoice-we had help on learning how to do that.

If you have any questions you can reach out to me at this email: erin.ol...@gmail.com.

Good luck,
Erin
