Protobuf imports in Java

This section https://developers.google.com/protocol-buffers/docs/proto3#importing_definitions says  Note that this feature is not available in Java.

I tried generating java classes for proto files that have imports and protoc worked fine without any issues.

Can I get clarification on what that Note means?

This is supposed to refer to the "import public" feature a little bit further down the page, but it looks like the warning is in the wrong place. Thank you for letting us know. I'm working on a fix for this.

Thank you for looking into this. Please provide some more background if possible like what happens if I do import public, etc..
