Thanos Optimizations

Hi all,

I'm trying to find some good resources that could give in-depth details regarding optimization a Prometheus setup with Thanos.  I'm finding myself in a position where a few shards I'm managing are getting somewhat "larger" (a few million series in the head block) and we're noticing some latency and even inability to load data too far back (1+ months in some cases).   Some changes have been done such as increasing the memory/cpu to a few of our components that required it (sidecar and store) although I'd really like to have a better understanding overall of all Thanos components along with each config parameter when what the appropriate value should be.
