is it possible to forecast traffic an CPU usage with prometheus data?

There are a couple of very basic built-in helper functions:

https://prometheus.io/docs/prometheus/latest/querying/functions/#holt_winters

predict_linear can be useful, for example, in giving advance warning of when a filesystem might become full based on its recent rate of growth.

For investigating long-term or seasonal trends, you'll probably want to read out the raw data via the API and pass it to a statistical tool of your choice.
