Exemplars: Jump from Grafana to Traces (a dream come true)

It would be very very great if you could jump from a unusual peak

in a Grafana metric to traces.

Do you know the current state of this. AFAIK it is called "Exemplars"?

Is there something I can do to make this dream come true?

Grafana can only display the data it gets from the data source.

First Prometheus needs to export Exemplars (trace-ids). Then Grafana

can make use of them.

Is it already possible to let Prometheus export Exemplars (trace-ids)?

I think there has been some progress meanwhile, but I haven't seen
something externally usable yet.
