Sudden increase in Total Series.

Hi. I am running Prometheus v 2.12.0. I had a total of around 5 million series and my memory consumption used to be around 85% constantly. Suddenly, an hour back the total number of series hiked to 10 million+ causing the Prometheus to go down again and again.

No targets were changed. Please help!
