Configuring jmx exporter for prometheus

Hello experts,

With reference to https://github.com/prometheus/jmx_exporter, as we know that after specifying the port in the command, it is able to export metrics to a specified port. I am able to do that. But I didn't get any information that how the process is running internally. Can anybody help me out please!!

Can you elaboreate?

For what service did you configure JMX Exporter and Prometheus? Weblogic? Apache? etc..

Hi Julian, I have done this for HiveServer2. I want to know how this process goes. Like when we run the java agent command, what happens after that till it reaches to the specified port. Please let me know if you want to know anything else.
