Hello Team,

I am using AWS instances and as of now we are assigning the public or private Ip in the prometheus.yml file to get the metrics.
But now we are spinning the metrics where we need the old instance data also.

So, came up with a. idea that if you use the aws tags and config in prometheus.yml would be helpful.

Please help me how to configure it ??

Thanks,
Vamshi.

Hey Vamshi,

I suggest you take a look at Prometheus' ec2_sd_config. This uses Prometheus' in-built service discovery capabilities, which means that Prometheus will obtain the hostnames directly from Amazon, and you will not need to specify any individual ports or hostnames.

Best,

Ian
