to prometheus-announce

Hi all,

We’re happy to announce that Prometheus 2.48.0 has been released.

We have a big one here, headlined by the addition of warnings to PromQL query results, as well as better support for Native Histograms in Promtool, and new authentication methods for alertmanager and remote write endpoints. There are also a whole host of enhancements, mostly centered around improving performance, and quite a few bug fixes in the TSDB and other areas.

There were an impressive 41 different contributors in this release, so thank you to all of them. I’d also like to extend a special thanks to Bryan Boreham and Julien Pivotto for helping sort out the many blockers during the release process.

As always, the full changelog and binaries for 2.48.0 are available at https://github.com/prometheus/prometheus/releases/tag/v2.48.0.

Container images are also available at

https://quay.io/repository/prometheus/prometheus?tab=tags and

https://hub.docker.com/r/prom/prometheus/tags.

Thanks,

Levi
