Hello everyone,

Prometheus 2.17.1 has been released.

This patch release fixes unexpected a performance regression regarding
high CPU and memory usage noticed by multiple users.

The 2.17 release implements isolation in TSDB. API queries and recording
rules are guaranteed to only see full scrapes and full recording rules.
This comes with a certain overhead in resource usage. Depending on the
situation, there might be some increase in memory usage, CPU usage, or
query latency.

Next to this important change, we have plenty of improvements and
bugfixes!

Thank you everyone for contributing to this release.

Regards,
