  • Hello everyone!
  • After running demo_FSI_SingleWheelTest, I noticed that the component forces in the y and z directions are zero in the output results, and the torques in the syz direction are also all zero. Why is this the case?
  • I want to obtain the component forces and torques in all directions during the wheel's operation through calculations, so that I can compute the Pull Coefficient (PC) and Tractive Coefficient (TC).
  • All the best

Hi Ding,

This is a demo that I meant to remove a while ago. I just did that.

There is a much better way of setting up such a single wheel test and that is through the utility class ChTireTestRig. In particular, demo_VEH_TireTestRig_CRM shows usage of this test rig on CRM deformable terrain. ChTireTestRig offers a lot more capabilities than the hard-coded mechanism in demo_FSI_SingleWheelTest.

Please try this new approach and let us know if you see similar issues.
