I'm investigating using Chrono as a medium for generating terrains with randomized Bekker-Wong parameters as a way to get data on different terrain interactions for a given vehicle. However, I'm struggling to find good sources of information with approximate terramechanics parameters/measurements for decent quantities of varied terrains. I want to be sure the sets of parameters I generate have a basis in reality and that they could be encountered in the field, but it would be helpful to have a set of data from which to extrapolate parameter relationships and generate a manifold. I've been piecing together examples from individual papers, but most only focus or mention one or two soil or ground types.

Does anyone have any recommended/known datasets for Bekker-Wong/Janosi parameter measurements? Or bounds on what each parameter could conceivably be?

Dear Joshua Philip Martin

Below are some suggestions and resources that might help you construct a robust dataset for your simulations:

Hi Viet Le,

Thank you very much for providing these data tables. I’m sure they will be very useful to anyone working with the SCM terrain model.

I was wondering if you’d be ok with us making this information available on the Chrono documentation pages (here), of course attributing this to you.

Best,
Radu
