Hi Everyone,

I am fairly new to the community, and I was having issues with building VSG using the .\buildVSG.bat method (method 2 here https://api.projectchrono.org/module_vsg_installation.html).  I was able to follow through and build the openGL using the corresponding .\builGL.bat file.

I am attaching some screenshots that show what is going on,

Sal,

Regardless of which method you use to build VSG, you still need to first install Vulkan.

The link to get the VulkanSDK is provided in the installation instructions you linked to.

Once you install Vulkan, check that the VULKAN_SDK environment variable is properly set, then proceed with building VSG and its dependencies.

Hi Radu,

Thanks so much for your response. Yes, you indeed correctly observed my mistake. After installing  VulkanSDK, the buildVSG.bat worked as expected, and created the expected folders and files.
I was able to configure and generate in cmake but then I am having errors in MSVC builds for building the .dll for the GPU and the FSI modules.

I am attaching the error log as an excel file and the cmakeCache.txt. I am guessing the VulcanSDK version is wrong? I used VulkanSDK-1.3.296.0-Installer.exe

Sorry for not being able to get up to speed.

Cheers,
sal

Hi Radu,

Some updates. I think everything seems to build properly, when build the solution in Debug or Release but not in RelWithDebugInfo..  I think.  I will try to confirm this in another day or so.

Sal, you could try to modify the buildVSG.bat script to also generate the RelWithDebugInfo VSG libraries; simple replicate what is done for Debug.

If you try that, please let me know if it resolves the issue and I will push updated versions of all build scripts.

Hi Radu,

Thanks for the suggestion, I was able to generate the .dlls in #_rd.dll format, but I couldn't get it to build the RelWithDebInfo.
I am attaching the .bat files and error outputs, so you can see how I implemented your suggestion.
