Position:  Sr. Scrum Master

Location:  St Joseph MI

Duration: Through 2019 + Possible extension

Interview Mode : Phone followed by Skype/In person Interview 

We are looking for a Scrum Master in St. Joe, MI Area .    

Job Description:
Supports Agile thinking as the norm and help foster a culture of continuous improvement 
Assesses the Scrum Maturity of the team and organization and coaching the team to higher levels of maturity, at a pace that is sustainable and comfortable for the team and organization. 
Cultivates trust through personal and team relationships with a team of experienced Product Owners, co-located in Benton Harbor 

  • Mentors junior scrum masters, co-located with Development Team members in Pune, India, on newly formed Wolfpacks, modeling expected scrum master behavior and skills with a lead by example (lead by doing) style and mindset, transitioning to active coaching when the junior scrum master is ready to take the reins. 
  • Demonstrated experience & success as a scrum master where the Scrum Team is geographically diverse. 
  • Enforce a culture of stop-and-fix to enhance & protect the Development Team’s reputation for excellence in engineering 
  • Ensure Agile & Scrum concepts and principles are adhered to, be a voice of reason, and make the tough calls in demanding situations 
  • Demonstrated experience in guiding the Development Team on self-organizing to fill in the intentional gaps left in the Agile/Scrum frameworks. 
  • Demonstrated experience in “standing up” newly formed Scrum Teams and identifying and driving the activities and outcomes that are key to successfully standing up a new Scrum Team. 
  • Demonstrated experience and success in coaching teams to increasing levels of competency & expertise in Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment environments. Possesses a solid technical understanding of those environments. 
  • Building a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised without fear of blame, retribution, or being judged, with an emphasis on healing and problem-solving. 
  • Facilitating getting the work done without coercion, assigning, or dictating the work. 
  • Facilitating discussion, decision making, and conflict resolution. 
  • Assisting with internal and external communication, improving transparency, and radiating information. 
  • Supporting and educating the Product Owner, on behaviors and mindsets, as well as grooming and maintaining the product backlog. 
  • Providing all support to the team using a servant leadership style whenever possible and leading by example. 
  • Has a high degree of emotional intelligence, and is able to build successful, collaborative relationships with all personality types. 

Must Have Skills 

  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science, MIS, Business or similar (or equivalent experience) 
  • 4+ years of continuous experience as a Scrum Master and an ability to thrive in a fast-paced, product-centric environment 
  • Proven ability to work with development teams using Continuous Delivery practices, such as integrating continuously (CI), TDD, ATDD, BDD, Pairing and Mobbing 
  • Deep knowledge of XP, Kanban and Scrum 
  • Deep knowledge of LeSS framework 
  • Strong release planning skills 
  • Excellent knowledge and experience of Agile teachings, approaches and behaviors, with the ability to coach teams as well as the wider organization to address dysfunctions that may result from teams misinterpreting, ignoring or rejecting Agile values and principles 
    Experience in delivering connected product and digital solutions in a manufacturing environment, strongly preferred 
  • Ability to communicate, collaborate and influence cross-functionally, at all levels of the organization (including senior leaders) and work well in a distributed, team-oriented environment
  • While recognized certifications (PSM I, CSM, CSPO, Certified Agile Coach, etc) are valuable, more value is placed on the diversity of coaching experiences that can be demonstrated using enterprise software development examples. Having said that, advanced scrum master certification (e.g. PSM II or III) is desirable. 
  • Excellent written/verbal communication, presentation, and mentoring skills 
    A high degree of emotional intelligence 
  • Experience in Rational (DNG, RTC, RQM) is desirable but not required.
