Azure Cloud Engineer

100% Remote

6-12 months Contract-to-Hire; Must be a USC or a GC


 

 

NOTES ON POSITION
The position is focused on the Azure space. The candidate needs to have a strong understanding of Azure and Terraform.
Understanding networking walls and Azure policy is important
Mid-tier developer role working on a long project to implement security, policy, and governance controls
Looking for someone on the team that will follow up on the controls in place and will take direction from Sam
The contractor will be given a lot of direction and should not need handholding 

 

Job Description
This position will work on developing the platform strategy to securely manage and scale consumption of Azure cloud services in a highly regulated environment. The ideal candidate has a framework or platform orientation experience solving problems with a cloud services approach. The candidate will implement organization wide controls and monitoring to ensure security and compliance and remediate issues in the Azure platform relating to service deviations from these controls.

Must have skills: 

  • Azure Expertise 
  • Terraform Development 
  • Networking Skills (Azure Firewall, Azure Vnets) 
  • Azure Policy Implementation 
  • Strong familiarity with web related technologies (Web applications, Web Services, Service Oriented Architectures) and of network/web related protocols 
  • Automation and Deployment of IaaS compute instances 
  • Cloud Monitoring platforms (EventHub, Azure Monitor, App Insights, etc.) 
  • Strong Understanding of Network principles 
  • Understanding of Azure Data Lake 
  • Understanding of Kubernetes 

    Certifications: 
  • Azure certifications preferred 
  • Education: 5+ years Azure experience
