Title: Sr. API Developer (Java/Node)

Type: 6-month C2H

Location: Atlanta, needs to be onsite 2x per week

Exclusive/Competition: Yes

Note: Need resource on our W2 || USC, GC, EAD, H1T only

Skillset: Java 17 and Node TypeScript, GCP

Have some Java 8, 11, and some 17 – Spring, Spring Boot, Vert.x is a huge plus

Must Have Skills/ Requirements: (Top 3-5 or more)

• Must haves is API exp- needs to have exp working with API-centric products.  Write API’s from scratch, consume them as well. Work w/ third parties, etc.
• 5 years of professional Java exp, Back End Node- working on most recent versions even up to 17

 

Manager likes/dislikes: (Preferred industry / deal breakers / ideal candidate/soft skills)

• Come from VMware or RouteMatch
• Any RDBMS, PostGres, Oracle, MS SQL
• Service Mesh exp
• Kubernetes a plus

Why they've passed on people: Coding, can’t code out of a white box. Can't do a simple line of code like how would you enter a space.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a Technical Discipline or equivalent work experience
• 8+ years of software development experience
• Track record of open source contributions
• Developer community engagement experience
• Like working on agile teams
• Web development skills using HTML, CSS, Javascript
• Basic understanding of creating RESTful APIs Java
• Experience using relational databases
• Understanding of TDD and experience writing automated unit tests
• Familiarity with distributed version control systems (eg. git)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience building large single page applications using React, Angular, or similar frameworks
• Familiar with some of the following: Typescript, webpack, Sass, Bootstrap
• Background working on highly-available, high-transaction volume, fault-tolerant systems
• Experience using ORMs
• Participation in public open source projects
• Experience making web applications run fast
• SEO optimization experience
• Experience with Docker and Linux
• Passion for continuous learning and keeping up with industry trends
