Location :- Fremont , CA
JD :-
· Perform common database procedures, such as upgrades, backups, recovery, migration, patching, etc.
· Work with multiple teams (e.g., application, infrastructure, cloud, etc.) to complete requests (adding new or decommissioning existing clusters)
· Debug and resolve issues
· Recommend and implement performance tuning of CPUs, cores, etc. for Cassandra
· Assist with the design, configuration, and management of large Cassandra clusters on multiple environments.
· Assist with planning, implementation, and oversight of data migration from one DC to another DC
· Use OpsCenter, Astra Health Dashboard, Splunk, Pager Duty, RightScale, etc. or some combination of tools to conduct ongoing health check monitoring
· Troubleshoot and make recommendations regarding Cassandra-specific DB problems (e.g., large partitions, tombstones, skew, dropped hints, etc.)
· Work closely with teams like compliance, site reliability engineering, etc. to ensure the managed infrastructure is performant, healthy, patched, secure and all SLOs / SLAs are met.
· Utilize project management software (e.g., Jira) to log time and resolve tickets
· Consult on client projects, maintain client confidence and protect client operations by keeping information confidential
Contribute to team effort by using effective communication skills, being a self-starter, and taking responsibility for deliverables.
