Role : Storage Engineer

Location : Alpharetta Georgia

Visa :  NO H1 Transfers

Will phone interview first  

Job Roles / Responsibilities:       

Not a super detailed job description but they are looking for a Storage Engineer/Solutions Consultant. This person needs to have a broad EMC hardware knowledge, some hands-on configuring/troubleshooting, Storage Management ability, VMware,  XtremeIO, Isilon, Networking, Cisco UCS and Nexus Switches admin and upgrades, etc. This person will be Re-architecting current storage environment based upon evolving  needs.

 

Must have skills:


  1. Storage
    1. VMAX – Sound knowledge of Storage Provisioning and troubleshooting. Should possess skills to troubleshoot performance issue from storage array perspective as well as from Operating System perspective.
    2. XtremIO – Sound working knowledge with configuration of host access to XtremIO as per best practice along with storage provisioning, troubleshooting skills
    3. Isilon – Sound knowledge of administration, configuration and networking in Isilon, NFS and CIFS export / shares configuration, troubleshooting skills
    4. Unity – Sound knowledge of storage configuration and host configuration. Troubleshooting skills
    5. Having knowledge of command line for all above storage arrays. Should not be heavily relying on GUI.

 

  1. Zoning Configuration on Cisco MDS Switches. Should also be aware of VSAN configuration.
  2. Compute
    1. Cisco UCS basic configuration which includes creating service profiles, associating service profiles to the blades / rack servers
    2. Changing network or boot configurations
    3. Familiarity about Fabric Interconnect and configuration
    4. Familiarity about Nexus 5K will be an added advantage

 

Good To Have

 

  1. Avamar and Data Domain Knowledge
    1. Should be able to navigate in  Avamar and DataDomain.
    2. Troubleshoot backup failures or to optimize the backups, any tweaks
  2. Linux Skills
    1. Should be familiar with Linux / Unix Operating Systems (Red Hat preferred) to troubleshoot storage related issues or performance issues
    2. Should be able to write scripts
    3. Powerpath configuration and troubleshooting skills.
  3. Windows and AD knowledge
  4. VMWARE skills from storage perspective
  5. Monitoring of storage array’s and Compute environment. Should have capability to think outside of the box related to monitoring rather than relying on standard monitoring softwares.
