1 )  Position : Hadoop Admin

Location : East Hanover ,New Jersey

 

The typical responsibilities of a Hadoop admin include deploying a hadoop cluster maintaining a hadoop cluster adding and removing nodes using cluster monitoring tools like Ganglia Nagios or Cloudera Manager configuring the NameNode high availability and keeping a track of all the running hadoop jobsImplementing managing and administering the overall hadoop infrastructureTakes care of the daytoday running of Hadoop clustersA hadoop administrator will have to work closely with the database team network team BI team and application teams to make sure that all the big data applications are highly available and performing as expectedIf working with open source Apache Distribution then hadoop admins have to manually setup all the configurations CoreSite HDFSSite YARNSite and Map RedSite However when working with popular hadoop distribution like Hortonworks Cloudera or MapR the configuration files are setup on startup and the hadoop admin need not configu


2 ) Position : Hadoop Admin

Location : Bloomington ,Minnesota

 

        Administer and maintain Hortonworks Hadoop clusters across all environments - Production, UAT & Development

        Installation/upgrade/configuration of the Hortonworks Hadoop platform.

        In depth understanding of Hadoop ecosystem like HDFS, YARN, MapReduce, Hive, Pig, Spark, Sqoop, Solr, kafka, oozie , Knox,Ranger, Ranger KMS etc.

        Experience in setup, configuration and management of security for Hadoop clusters using Kerberos and integration with LDAP/AD at an Enterprise level.

        Experience in troubleshooting and analyzing Hadoop cluster services/component failures and job failures.

        Experience in managing Hadoop cluster with Ambari and developing custom tools/scripts to monitor the Hadoop Cluster health.

        Experience with setting up Ranger policies for HDFS, Hive etc.

        Proactively monitor cluster health and perform performance tuning activities.

        Perform capacity planning and expansion activities working across Infrastructure and other Enterprise Services teams
