Role: AWS Architect

Location: Houston, TX

Duration: 6+ Months Contract

Preferably locals or close by consultants.

Title: AWS Cloud Migration Engineer Department: Information Security Status: Contractor Information Security

Major Purpose of Job:

The main purpose of this position is to work within the Security Architecture/Engineering teams to create cloud migration strategies for security services currently housed on-premises and lead the effort in building, testing, and finally migrating these services to the AWS environment.

Essential Job Functions: Work with security architects and engineers to fully understand and document the requirements of their existing security services. Perform technical AWS diagramming, configuration, scripting, testing, and integration activities as required for successful migration. Design and develop, from the ground up, reliable and scalable back-end infrastructure, that provide security services, using AWS components. Deliver fully automated, streamlined and scalable services in the AWS production environment Help troubleshoot and resolve issues prohibiting migration or uncovered by migration.

Other Job Functions:

• Learn and leverage existing client Cloud tools

• Proactively participate in continuous improvement activities.

• Developing custom scripts to automate tasks.

· Education/Experience Requirements:

• Expert level hands on experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS), including RDS, EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, and Security Groups

• Proficient in Systems Engineering Linux Administration, SSL, DNS, Network Engineering, Performance Tuning and Automation/Programming

• Hands on In-depth knowledge of Linux/Unix tools and architecture

• Experience with source control applications such as Bitbucket Git

• Knowledge of web, security, and networking protocols

• Knowledge of any one high-level programming language a plus

• AWS Certifications desired
