As you may have noticed we are transitioning to a new PrivateEyePi website.  The last remaining pages (rules, analytics and control) are being converted and we will retire the old site eventually. There is a link in the footer to the old site if you need it.

We would like to welcome suggestions for changes and input on the new design and layout. Also if you are using the old site we'd like to understand what you preferred in the old site so we can accommodate them in the new site.

Please using this Conversation thread for your ideas.

Thanks in advance,

The PrivateEyePi Team

I am interested in the logic behind the ranging and colour choices for the rotary temperature displays.  I use the system for monitoring the flow and return temperatures for a domestic heating boiler.  Any temperature up to 85C is quite acceptable
but by 55C I seem to have a full scale deflection red dial.

The ranges we have are: -40C to +40C and -40F to 144F. As a work around you could consider changing to F.

We do plan having a configuration option to configure the ranges, as well as the thresholds for blue, green, red.

The alignment for long text is now fixed. Please let us know if it didn't work for you.

Hi Gadjet,
Thank you for continuing improving the PrivateEyePi service! I’d hope the new website will also be supporting IOS devices as the old one.
Currently, the new layout looks just too big on my iPhone and it doesn’t show on my iMac (using Safari browser) at all!
The “RPI Online” or “chain link” status doesn’t work on Safari although it looks just fine on Chrome!
V/r,
Michael

Thanks I’ll look into the Safari compatibility issue.

Can you post a print screen if what it looks like on your iOS device? We tested it in an iPhone 6,11 and 12. Pic attached.

Hi Gadjet,
Here’s the print screen on my iPhone 10. I think it looks pretty much the same as your pic.
It only shows two of my seven sensor dials but I can always scroll down. No biggie!
Thank you,
Michael

The temperature, date and time on the dashboard donut graphs should be sharper now.
