Hello developers,

I am interested to run some large simulations with PRISMS plasticity for which I would need to run the analysis multiple times, starting each time from where I saved last. I am aware that this can be achieved with checkpointing or writing a restart file. With a google search, it became clear to me that deal.ii provides some functionality to achieve checkpointing/writing restart file (for e.g. Step-83 tutorial and Checkpoint/Restart) . Is there a quick way/guidelines available to incorporate checkpointing with PRISMS Plasticity?

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Danish

Hello, Danish

We have checkpointing implemented in PRISMS-PF (version 2.4.2 and earlier), which is a similar framework. Perhaps you can use that as a template for enabling checkpointing in PRISMS-Plasticity?  We always encourage users to contribute to the development, so if you are able to implement this capability, it would be great if you could do a pull request.

In addition, I have created an issue for this and, if I have time, I can work on this implementation within the next couple of months.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Best,

David
