WeBWorK problems not loading for some students in Runestone

I'm getting intermittent reports from students using my linear algebra book on Runestone (local Runestone, not Brad's) that either they click the Activate button on a WeBWorK problem and it gets stuck at the grey "Loading" screen, or that they similarly get stuck after clicking submit.

I'm not able to reproduce the problems so far.

Have other people run into this? Were any causes/solutions identified?

So far I'm telling students to try clearing their cache, or use a different browser, but I haven't heard back from any of them to know if this helped.

It could means some JavaScript error. It could also mean the exercise code itself entered an infinite loop and then it takes 60 seconds for WW to declare it's been too long.

Try to see it in action and then look for a console error. Or wait 60 seconds. Either way, it could help to get the details: which user, which exercise, which seed. For the last one, you can examine the DOM with an inspector.

Thanks. The challenge will be to convince a student getting an error to show it to me on campus during the day, rather than complaining by email overnight...
