Name sign by mailbox

Hi all,

It looks like the name sign next to the usps mailbox fell down. It’s interesting timing because this morning when I was walking past it I noticed that it was rotting out and would need to be replaced soon, but I wasn’t expecting it to be this fast.

I think we have a few options. We could put it new posts and bolt the old sign to it. It’s fine past a few inches at the bottom. Or we could just make a new one. All of the engraved pieces, the names themselves and the “Palomar Dr.” panel could be saved for sure, although I’d vote to have them repainted to freshen them up and match the new parts. We could also probably replace just the posts.

Thoughts?

We have a quote from Julio to fix the sign ….. we should get him going on it.

Denise - FYI, I have sent a text message to Julio seeking his assistance on a couple of items relative to the flag holder project and in that text I mentioned the collapse of the signpost at the Y and asked if he would still honor the earlier $1,6o00 bid. I’ll let you know when he responds. As Jeff pointed out during an earlier meeting, Julio may not have factored in the individual removal of each name sign and the replacement of same. It is a bigger job than one might think on the surface. But let’s see if he will do it for the quoted amount. - B
