For many months, Palomar Park property owner Michael Herzen has been struggling with the County to get the traffic signal at Edgewood repaired so that it once again will respond to traffic volume. Late last summer or early fall, a contractor unaffiliated with the County did some digging that damaged the “loop” that controls the signal—anyone who has traveled down Scenic during student drop-off/pickup hours has seen the long line of cars that extends from Edgewood all the way up to the Clifford/Palomar intersection. It can take 4-5 signal changes to get onto Edgewood at these times.
Thanks to Mike, it seems that the County will be repairing this problem TOMORROW, throughout the day during school hours.
It might be helpful to our residents if the Board could give them a heads-up about tomorrow’s work.

Hello Michael –
Everyone that have reported the signal issue at this intersection will be getting an update soon but please feel free to pass the information to your neighbors and contacts.
The subcontractor only has one opening to do the loop replacement within the next few months. Unfortunately, that window is tomorrow, Thursday, 5/14/2026.
The work will be done after the morning school drop off hours and is scheduled to be finished by school pick up hours. There will be flaggers to help direct traffic as the intersection may be affected during the repairs.
