Job Description:

Position Summary

Will collaborate with other scrum team members to develop and implement DevOps culture across the project team. The primary responsibility of this role is to manage the patching of the RedHat Enterprise Linux operating system across the entire ecosystem using AWS automation tools.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

• Activities to install, configure and maintain all tools needed to accomplish all the following DevSecOps functions
• Source control management, continuous integration, deployment, monitoring, database management, repository management, provisioning, release management, logging, building, testing, containerization, collaboration, and security

 

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

• Must demonstrate significant initiative, independence, ability to follow through, and an interest in learning our business are essential. 
• Security clearance or background check may be required at varying levels, depending on particular project assignments or role. 
• Complete required training, as scheduled.
• Ensure access and equipment is configured to begin and continue work.
• Follow established procedures and guidelines.
• Implement approved changes and communicate status to the PM/Department.
• Support understanding and implementation of approved requirements as planned/scheduled.
• Conduct and contribute to audits, resolution of compliance gaps, Lessons Learned, and implement process improvements, as designated by the PM/Department Lead.
• Analyze requested changes for LOE, provide estimates, and update plans, as assigned.
• Evaluate work products/deliverables for technical accuracy and adherence to project requirements and standards. 
• Use SharePoint and document controls to follow established processes.
• When assigned as author, complete document updates, initiate peer review, complete the review process, and ensure updates are made according to that process

 

• Experience in leading a team of system administrators and should have experience in serving as a point of escalation
• Experience in deploying RedHat operating system patches using AWS automation tools such as AWS System Manager Automation documents
• Experience in implementing CICD (Continuous Integration Continuous deployment) tools
• Worked with several source control management tools such as GitHub, Git etc
• Worked with several continuous integration tools such as Jenkins, AWS Code Pipeline , etc.
• Worked with several deployment tools such as Ansible, AWS CodeDeploy, etc.
• Worked with several monitoring tools such as New relic, Elasticsearch, etc.
• Worked with several repository management tools such as Nexus, Npm, Docker Hub, Artifactory, etc.
• Worked with several provisioning tools such as Chef, Ansible, Terraform, etc.
• Worked with several logging tools such as Splunk, AWS CloudWatch etc.
• Worked with several building tools such as Maven, Ant, etc.
• Worked with several testing tools such as Jmeter, Selenium, Cucumber, etc.
• Worked with several containerization tools such as Docker, Openshift etc.
• Worked with several collaboration tools such as Jira, Slack, etc.
• Worked with several security tools & services such as Fortify, Chef Inspec , AWS Inspector , AWS Guard duty etc.
• Possess strong judgment, leadership, communication, diplomacy, collaboration, and organization skills
• Ability to independently, quickly, and efficiently identify and solve technical problems
• Ability to combine strong functional, conceptual and technical knowledge with a strong understanding of customer requirements to offer solutions in a very practical, timely, and efficient manner
• Ability to interact positively and communicate appropriately with team members, customers, and management
• Adept with RedHat Operating System, AWS Linux
• Supported applications on the AWS cloud and should be familiar with AWS services such as Elastic Load Balancers, S3, Elastic File Share, EC2, VPC, etc.
• 7 to 10 years of experience as a system administrator
• 5 to 7 years of experience with DevOps tools
• 5 to 7 years of experience with supporting applications on AWS
• Experience working on an Agile Project
• Experience in working in large projects interacting with several teams within the project
• Bachelors in a technical field (Computer Science, Data Analytics, Information Technology, etc.) OR technical experience and knowledge gained from going through a technical program/internship/boot camp etc
• Technical experience: 8-10 years
• AWS certifications, DevOps certification
