Unable to connect to node via SSH on POWDER experiment

Hi POWDER Support Team,

I’m seeing an SSH connectivity issue on a running experiment:

• Experiment name: Devarf

• Project: NRDZ

• Profile: powder-ceph-clients

• RefSpec: refs/heads/main (b691fe95)

• State: ready

• Started: Jul 8, 2025, 8:00 AM

• Expires: Jan 1, 2026, 2:00 PM

• Error shown in portal: “Unable to connect to pc492.emulab.net:22”
  

Could you help investigate why this node isn’t accepting SSH on port 22 despite the experiment being in ready state?

Hi Deva,

I'm not sure what had happened to it. It was completely unresponsive to
network and even on serial console, and the serial console log was
empty. This implies that it has been down for quite some time. I power
cycled it (which you can do as well from your experiment status page,
click on the node in Topology View and click Power Cycle), and it came
right back -- normal output on serial console, back online.
