core-layout-grid and css grid layout spec implementation?

Will core-layout-grid be implementing the css grid layout spec?  It would be nice to have the css grid layout spec as a core element.  In addition there is a polyfil for the current spec for browsers that have not implemented this feature yet. This could fit nicely in your webcomponents.js polyfills.
