Polymer Starter Kit - Is it possible to have a framed area with a different web page on the same page?

I'm trying to create a component that will show a usable web page from a different server surrounded by the header and menu from the starter kit. I've researched long and hard but I can't seem to find the answer.

There seems to be some issue where the browser won't accept different origin URL's as well.

Has anybody managed to do this? The components (iframe replacements) that I have found don't seem to work.
