Hello Everyone,

I am Vikash Agrawal (http://vikash.io) (IRC: vikash) working as a front end developer. I would like to contribute to the Polymer Project. The other day I was also discussing the same with JMoore on IRC. I am looking forward to some pointers  and a few easy bugs to get started with the code base :). I have already signed the CLA, cloned the `tools` repo and run the initial grunt test.

In the past I have been a part of Google Summer of Code in 2011 with X.org, 2012 with Mozilla under MDN project and in 2013 with W3C under JSON-LD and as a result I do have experience of Open Source contribution :)

But indeed every community and projects have different sets of guidelines to follow and so far I have read the `tools/CONTRIBUTING.md` :)

I was also navigating through polymer-dev and other repositories. An initial mentoring will indeed be very helpful. My main agenda is to learn and give back to the community and also contribute actively to the core polymer project.

Regards
~Vikash

Hi Vikash,

The team is pretty small, so dedicated 1 on 1 mentoring time is probably not something we can do. That's not to discourage you from getting involved, we *LOVE* contributors, and I think the best way to contribute is to take a look at some of the open tickets and file a pull request on Github. That way the team can review the code and leave feedback.

It may be easier to start looking at some of the core-* and paper-* element repos, and looking at the issues they have open. We have lots of elements (just go here and type "core" or "paper") and could definitely use help making those better for developers. Also, if you find issues in the documentation, we love pull requests to fix those as well. Every contribution helps and is greatly appreciated, so thank you in advance!

Thanks Rob for the pointers. I will surely look into them and get started with things :)
